  • File for your homestead exemption! This may save you hundreds of dollars each year. You can file online, just click here.
  • There are other exemptions that may save you money. Visit our Exemptions page for more details.
  • If you previously filed homestead within the state of Florida, you may be eligible for additional savings. When filing for your homestead exemption, remember to file a Portablility application.
  • Get an estimate of your property taxes. Do not assume the taxes from the previous owner will be the same for you; a change in ownership may reset the assessed value to the full market value, this could result in higher property taxes. Search for your parcel to access our tax estimator tool or call our office at (850) 606-6200.

  • Mr. Thomas,

As I stated on the phone, I really appreciate your politeness and your professionalism. I appreciate the fact that you answered my email very quickly so I didn't have to wonder whether you received it or not. You were very pleasant on the phone. You were polite and courteous.

This was my first time dealing with the Leon County Appraiser's Office and you put me at ease and made it a pleasant. Thank you, sir, for your service to me and to the residents of Leon County.

  • Leslie, Ken and Valencia,

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help today! And thank you for turning this around so quickly. Everything looks great. I hope you all have a great evening.

  • Good afternoon Ms. Scott,

It was such a pleasure meeting you at the Lenders' Consortium Home Buyer Class on March 18th. As I mentioned to you in our conversation, it's not often that you find someone with the customer service skills that you presented to the potential homebuyers. You came from a position of contribution which always makes the reception of the information better. As a resident of Leon, I was enlightened by a lot of the information you presented during this session. Keep up the good work! It's appreciated!!!

  • Dear Mr. Akinyemi:

I want to take a moment to tell you of a most amazing experience I had at your office today. Deanne Holder waited on me and my daughter, Kelley DiSalvo, as we were trying to make heads or tails of some small pieces of property that belonged to my deceased husband, John Pat Krause, and me. Some of the lots were in low land and one piece of property didn't even have an address, except the address of the next door neighbor. Deanne very, very patiently looked up each and every parcel and helped us see the adjoining property owners so we can contact them, where needed, and also take the necessary steps to finally dispose of the remaining lots. I can see that Deanne is a treasure to your office and the citizens of Leon County.

on the way out of the building, my daughter and I were commenting on the wonderful service, when another one of your employees, Valencia Scott, kindly helped us with an email address where I could send this message. Thank you for your wisdom in hiring top notch employees!

  • Dear Mr. Akinyemi:

I just wanted to let you know how helpful Mike Nichols was in helping us through a complicated situation in a real estate transaction where a tax certificate had been sold on the subject property. He went above and beyond the call of duty, patiently explaining the situation separately to all three parties involved. The issue was resolved with his help and his response was excellent.

Thank you for running such a great office.
